Deactivated Facebook in 2014 and now I want to reactivate and delete it forever. However, it asks of me to provide photo identification (passport/driver license etc.) OR ask 3 friends they chose for me to identify myself. I don’t want to do either of these methods. Help?

A few years back, I deactivated Facebook (~2014). But now, I’m deciding to delete it forever. However, it asks of me to verify myself either by:

1) Provide photo ID (passport, driver license, etc.) Facebook ensures they wouldn’t save the photo identification for more than 30 days. But I highly doubt that’s true.

OR

2) Ask 3 out of 5 friends to verify me. Facebook will send them a code, in which they send back to me so I can verify myself. The problem is I don’t even talk to all those 5 people. It would be painstakingly awkward to ask of those people to do so. I also don’t think majority of them are even active on Facebook.

I don’t want to do either of these methods because 1) asks of my private info and 2) asks of something I’m uncomfortable to do and also not sure there’s even a possibility.

Why is it so hard to get rid of FB? Has this happened to you before? Any input or insight would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
